Inu-Ou

Tomona loses his father and his sight in an accident tied to relics of the Heike clan, then learns the biwa and survives by performing the stories authorities permit people to remember. His path changes when he meets Inu-Oh, an outcast who hides his body behind a mask because others treat his appearance as a curse. Tomona sees no reason to fear him, and the two discover that Inu-Oh's dancing can transform biwa music into performances that electrify a crowd. Forgotten Heike spirits begin giving them songs erased from official history, turning their shows into a sensation the authorities cannot ignore. As fame grows, performing those lost stories becomes more than entertainment: it challenges the power of those who decide which past is allowed to survive.
