Zeri Feisheng

In an age when evil spirits run rampant and forces from the underworld intrude upon the human realm, ordinary people are trapped between corrupt officials and beings they cannot hope to resist. Xu Ying is only a snake catcher, but he refuses to stand aside when he sees gods serving the underworld oppress innocent people.

His rebellion leads him to kill a god and strike down corrupt officials, turning an ordinary man into a fugitive hunted by powers from both worlds. As he flees, Xu Ying begins to discover that the injustice he challenged is part of something far larger, and that surviving may require confronting the order that made humanity prey to heaven and the underworld alike.
