In Another World, ghosts are meant to guide wandering spirits toward rebirth. Little Ghost is not particularly good at his duty and often loses track of what he is supposed to be doing. While searching a quiet forest for the spirit assigned to him, he meets a young girl who refuses to move on until she finds her missing younger brother.

The two begin searching together, and the girl's determination slowly awakens feelings Little Ghost thought he had left behind with his humanity. Yet she carries a painful wrong connected to her brother, and rebirth still awaits her at the end of the path. As their bond deepens, Little Ghost must face the one truth he does not want to accept: helping her may ultimately mean letting her go.
