Chaldea reaches the end of another exhausting year, and Ritsuka Fujimaru would like nothing more than to enjoy the festivities with the Servants. Naturally, a strange mystery refuses to leave the celebration alone, drawing Ritsuka into an investigation filled with suspicious behavior, contradictory stories, and the enigmatic figure known only as the secret meeting person Y.

Ritsuka approaches every clue with the same dangerous weapon he always carries: completely sincere questions. The more straightforward he becomes, the more the Heroic Spirits are forced into absurd explanations, turning a year-end mystery into another chaotic Chaldean gathering.
