Shamiko is still determined to free her family from the Clan of Light's curse, but the magical girl she was supposed to defeat has become her closest ally. Together with Momo, she searches for Sakura Chiyoda, the magical girl who vanished years earlier and whose disappearance may be tied to several mysteries surrounding the city. Their investigation brings new demons, magical girls, and unsettling traces of a hidden threat into their everyday lives. It also draws Shamiko closer to the truth about her own family, including the fate of her mysterious father. The more she learns, the less the old division between “dark” and “light” explains the people she now wants to protect.
