Perception Art has transformed the art world by allowing an audience to experience a work through all five senses rather than simply look at it. Kazuya Yamanashi is the son of the medium's creators, has inherited their talent, and dreams of becoming the finest Perception Artist. He enrolls at the prestigious Eisen High School, where artists and graders work in pairs to turn ideas into complete sensory experiences.

Kazuya's reason for being there is not only artistic ambition. His childhood friend Kyou Takise attends the same school, and their relationship broke apart after an incident years earlier. When the two are forced back into the same creative world, they must confront a rift neither has been able to explain, with art becoming the only language that may reconnect them.
