By the closing months of the One Year War, the Principality of Zeon is no longer testing weapons for a confident victory; it is throwing prototypes into battle while defeat closes in. Aboard the Jotunheim, engineering lieutenant Oliver May and the 603rd Technical Evaluation Unit continue assessing machines that may be spectacular on paper but are often entrusted to pilots facing impossible odds.

The Ze'Gok, the Oggo mobile pod, and the massive Big Rang are each pushed into combat as Zeon's military situation collapses around the unit. For Oliver, every evaluation becomes a record of another soldier who believed an experimental weapon might change the war. As the final battles approach, the Jotunheim crew must confront the gap between technical promise, military desperation, and the human cost hidden behind the data.
