Exiled prince Lelouch Lamperouge gains the mysterious power of Geass from C.C., giving him the ability to command another person absolutely. Hiding behind the masked identity Zero, he turns that power against the Holy Britannian Empire and builds the Black Knights into a rebel force that promises justice for occupied Japan.

His rebellion grows through daring victories and painful failures while his private life becomes increasingly impossible to separate from the battlefield.
