A brilliant pastry chef dies before fulfilling his dream of creating the world’s finest sweets, then is reborn as Pastry “Pas” Morteln, the young son of a noble family ruling a poor and barren territory. Pas keeps both his memories and his love of confectionery, only to discover that sugar and ingredients he once considered ordinary are luxuries here.

Before he can build the dessert paradise he imagines, he must deal with bandits, scarce water, difficult nobles, and responsibilities far beyond his age. Pas uses ingenuity, knowledge from his previous life, and the magic he learns to protect and improve his land. Every problem he solves brings him one small step closer to a goal that may sound trivial beside politics and war, but matters deeply to him: a world where good sweets can make people smile.
