Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Tsuioku-hen

As a child, Shinta is rescued from slaughter by the swordsman Hiko Seijuurou, who gives him the name Kenshin and teaches him the deadly Hiten Mitsurugi style. Years later, convinced that a new age can spare others the suffering he witnessed, the idealistic teenager enters Kyoto's violent struggle against the shogunate and becomes the feared assassin Hitokiri Battousai.

Kenshin's certainty begins to fracture after one killing leaves a cut across his face and brings the quiet Tomoe Yukishiro into his life. Their relationship grows amid conspiracy and bloodshed, forcing Kenshin to confront the human cost of the future he is helping create and setting the tragedy that will carve the rest of his cross-shaped scar into both his face and memory.
