Perfect Blue

Mima Kirigoe leaves the pop group CHAM! to begin a new career as an actress, a decision some of her fans refuse to accept. Determined to shed her image as an innocent idol, she takes a more provocative role in a crime drama, but every step away from her old identity increases the pressure surrounding her.

An obsessed fan begins stalking her, a website appears that writes a diary in her name with frighteningly precise details, and violent incidents strike people connected to her new work. At the same time, Mima starts seeing a version of herself still dressed as the idol she abandoned and loses confidence in her own memories. Acting, life, fantasy, and reality blur together until the most frightening question is no longer who is watching her, but which version of “Mima” she can trust.
