Hibike! Euphonium: Ensemble Contest-hen

The ensemble contest gives Kitauji High School's concert band a challenge very different from a full-band competition. Only one small group can represent the school at the Kyoto prefectural event, while the club has more than fifty members, each carrying different ambitions, opinions, and relationships within the band.

For Kumiko Oumae, the difficulty is no longer limited to playing well. As the newly appointed club president, she must manage selections, disagreements, and expectations when friends are suddenly competing for a limited opportunity. Torn between giving Kitauji the strongest possible performance and protecting the trust of the people she leads, Kumiko faces her first serious test of what being responsible for the entire club actually means.
