Young Black Jack

In the 1960s, medical student Kuroo Hazama already possesses surgical skill that surpasses many trained doctors. His scarred body and reserved manner make him difficult to approach, but when a life hangs in the balance he is willing to attempt operations others consider impossible.

Alongside the earnest Maiko Okamoto and his troubled friend Yabu, Hazama encounters patients caught in poverty, violence, political unrest, and war. Each case tests not only his talent but also what he believes a life is worth, gradually shaping the brilliant and controversial surgeon who will one day be known as Black Jack.
