Omoide Poroporo

Twenty-seven-year-old Taeko Okajima lives an independent life in Tokyo but chooses to spend her vacation in rural Yamagata helping with the harvest. During the journey, childhood memories return with unexpected clarity: school, first crushes, adolescent embarrassment, and the dreams she carried as a young girl. In the countryside she grows closer to Toshio, a man who consciously chose a farming life, and begins comparing the path she followed with the one she once imagined. The memories do not pull Taeko backward so much as force her to look honestly at the person she has become. Between the fields, physical work, and quiet conversations, she begins asking whether the life she built is truly the one she wants to continue living.
