While Mei, Aiko, Asami, and Nagi spend the afternoon baking cookies at Mei's house, Yamato is sent outside and meets Kai at the old park where the two first became close. Their conversation turns unexpectedly personal, with Yamato admitting how often he once changed himself to fit the people around him and how meeting Mei made him recognize his own loneliness.

Kai later crosses paths with Megumi and discovers that even her confident public image hides complicated feelings. By evening, Yamato returns to Mei, and a quiet walk together gives the couple a chance to appreciate the comfort they have found in one another.
