Mikiya Kokutou's quiet fascination with Shiki Ryougi begins when he meets the distant girl at school in 1995. After Shiki awakens with the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, a succession of violent mysteries draws her toward people twisted by obsession, pain, and powers beyond ordinary understanding.
