When the bakery falls quiet at midnight and every human has gone to sleep, the unbaked little Bread Babies wake up. Soft dough gives them bodies that can stretch and change shape, and the empty shop becomes a secret world where they can talk, play, clean, argue, and explore without being noticed.

They are inexperienced, easily frightened, and not always sensible, but curiosity keeps pulling them into new situations. Whether attempting a job or simply enjoying a warm place to rest, the tiny loaves discover that their unfinished forms hold almost limitless possibilities.
