Garden of Remembrance

Years after “I” died, “You” still move through a life quietly filled with traces of me: an untidy room, a guitar, drinks left nearby, and the anemone flower I once loved. Even a childhood friend carrying that flower can reopen a memory that never completely settled.

One day, a sound comes from the closet. When You open it, a garden made from our shared memories appears where no garden should exist, bringing grief and affection together in a space that feels both impossible and familiar. Leaving that room does not erase the past. It changes where it lives, until a painted anemone can remain without keeping You trapped beside me forever.
