Kaijuu 8-gou: Narumi no Heijitsu

As captain of the First Division and one of the Defense Force's strongest fighters, Gen Narumi is terrifying whenever a kaiju appears. His ordinary workdays are much less impressive. Between reports he would rather avoid, routine duties he keeps putting off, and his obsession with games, life at headquarters reveals the amusing gap between the commander Japan relies on in its most dangerous battles and the man who sometimes needs someone else to keep him focused on the simplest responsibilities.
