Fuuka Reventon has learned to answer hardship with her fists. After growing up in an orphanage and struggling to support herself, her temper repeatedly lands her in fights. One such clash ends with martial arts champion Einhard Stratos taking Fuuka to the hospital and noticing the raw talent hidden behind her rough technique.

Einhard offers her work and training at Nakajima Gym, but the invitation revives painful memories of Fuuka's former best friend, Rinne Berlinetta. Once kind and inseparable from Fuuka, Rinne has become a cold, elite fighter. Fuuka accepts the challenge of competitive martial arts not only to grow stronger, but to reach the friend who now seems determined to shut everyone out.
