Ashita no Joe 2

Joe Yabuki walks away from boxing after a tragedy leaves him unable to face the ring as he once did. Wandering without direction cannot silence the fighter inside him, and encounters with people from his past eventually draw him back to the gym. Yet returning is not the same as recovering: an unseen psychological wound now sabotages him whenever a match echoes the event he cannot forget.

World-class Venezuelan boxer Carlos Rivera enters Joe's life at the moment he most needs an opponent capable of reigniting his instincts. Their rivalry pushes Joe beyond fear and back toward serious competition, but the road ahead leads to increasingly dangerous fighters and, eventually, the highest level of the boxing world, where determination alone may not be enough to protect him from the cost of continuing.
