Sengoku Youko: Yonaoshi Kyoudai-hen

Humans and spirit beings called katawara share the same world, but hatred between the two can be as dangerous as any monster. Tama Youko is a katawara who loves humans and fights anyone who harms them, while her adopted brother Jinka Yamato is mostly human yet despises humanity and longs to become a katawara himself. They are joined by Shinsuke Hyoudou, a weak swordsman obsessed with becoming strong after witnessing their overwhelming power.

Their journey begins with punishing evil humans and katawara alike, then exposes monks conducting brutal experiments to create human-spirit hybrids. Rescuing Shakuyaku, one victim of those experiments, turns the group’s wandering mission into a confrontation with an entire organization. Between Jinka’s desire to abandon his humanity and Tama’s determination to protect it, Shinsuke begins learning that strength is not measured only by who he can defeat with a sword.
