Yuuki Bakuhatsu Bang Bravern

Military forces from several nations gather in Hawaii for joint exercises using Titatonostrider combat machines. Japanese pilot Isami Ao meets American Marine Lewis Smith, but training becomes a real war when an unknown force attacks Earth with weapons far beyond anything humanity possesses.

Just as Isami’s unit is about to be destroyed, a bizarre giant robot named Bravern descends, loudly announcing itself and insisting that Isami is the only pilot meant for its cockpit. Isami has no idea where Bravern came from or why it seems to know him, but there is no time to refuse. The desperate realism of soldiers fighting for survival collides with a robot behaving like an impossibly enthusiastic super robot hero, creating a partnership nobody can explain but humanity cannot afford to lose.
