Devilman: Crybaby

Akira Fudo is so compassionate that he often cries for other people's pain before his own. When his enigmatic childhood friend Ryo Asuka returns with a terrifying revelation, Akira learns that demons still exist and are preparing to reclaim the world from humanity. Ryo drags him to a frenzied gathering meant to expose them, only for the night to erupt into slaughter as demons possess the people around them.

Akira survives by merging with the powerful demon Amon while somehow retaining his human heart. With a demon's body and a human soul, he becomes Devilman and fights the creatures threatening those he loves. Yet demons are only part of the danger. As fear spreads through society, suspicion turns people against one another, forcing Akira to defend not only humanity's lives but the compassion that makes those lives worth saving.
