Video Girl Ai

Youta Moteuchi is in love with his friend Moemi, only to learn that her heart belongs to his best friend Takashi. Crushed after hearing it from her directly, he wanders into a strange video rental shop he has never seen before. He takes home a tape featuring a girl named Ai Amano, but when he plays it, Ai steps out of the television and announces that her purpose is to heal his broken heart and help him find love.

Youta's malfunctioning VCR has altered Ai's intended personality, leaving her blunt, mischievous, and stubborn rather than the perfect “video girl” she was supposed to be. As she tries to push Youta toward Moemi, feelings develop that were never part of her assignment. With Ai's time outside the tape limited, both of them must face whether love can really be guided according to a plan.
