Chibi Maruko-chan: Watashi no Suki na Uta

Momoko’s class receives an art assignment with a personal twist: each student must create a picture inspired by a favorite song. Determined to make something worthy of the melody she recently learned in music class, Momoko begins thinking more seriously than usual about what a drawing can express.

On a visit to Shizuoka, Momoko crosses paths with Shouko Kimura, an older student who draws portraits around the train station and has artistic ambitions of her own. Momoko is captivated by Shouko’s work, while Shouko responds to the younger girl’s openhearted nature. Their unexpected friendship gives both of them a new way to see their art and the feelings they want to place inside it.
