Away from the deadly conflict between the Oni bloodline and the Momotaro faction, Shiki and the students of Rasetsu Academy find time for much smaller problems. Training, meals, petty contests, and ridiculous conversations expose another side of the group, where heirs to a centuries-old war can instantly become ordinary teenagers who cannot agree on even the simplest things.
