Mao's culinary journey grows more dangerous as the Underground Cooking Society intensifies its campaign to dominate China's kitchens through fear, deception, and dishes designed to control the people who taste them. Together with Meili, Shirou, Shell, and Leon, Mao continues searching for the legendary cooking utensils before the society can gather their power for itself.

Each new destination brings a contest in which technique alone is not enough. Mao must understand ingredients, the people he cooks for, and the intention behind a dish while facing chefs willing to sacrifice anything for victory. The closer the group comes to the truth behind the legendary utensils, the more cooking becomes a battlefield over who gets to shape the future of Chinese cuisine.
