Make Heroine ga Oosugiru!

Kazuhiko Nukumizu prefers staying in the background with his light novels rather than entering anyone else's drama. That changes when he witnesses classmate Anna Yanami being painfully rejected by the childhood friend she has loved for years. He tries to comfort her and somehow becomes the person she complains to, eats beside, and repeatedly leaves with the bill.

Anna is soon not alone. Other girls who have lost their own romantic battles enter Nukumizu's life, including athletic Lemon and painfully shy Chika. He has no ambition to become the hero of a love story, yet he becomes a steady friend to girls whom stories usually abandon after someone else is chosen. Their lives, he learns, do not end when they lose.
