Nanbaka

Nanba was built to be the prison no criminal could escape, and Cell 13 contains four inmates famous for escaping everywhere else. Juugo can open almost any lock, Uno is a gambler with extraordinary intuition, Nico is an anime fanatic whose body reacts strangely to medicine, and Rock cares about little as passionately as food and fighting.

For them, breaking out is often less a serious desire for freedom than a way to relieve boredom, making supervisor Hajime Sugoroku's job a daily nightmare. Sports festivals, fights, ridiculous escape plans, and prison events make Nanba seem almost friendlier than life outside its walls. Beneath the color and comedy, however, there are secrets, especially around Juugo, suggesting that the prison holding them may be stranger and more dangerous than any of its inmates realize.
