Bakeneko Anzu-chan

Eleven-year-old Karin is left at her grandfather's rural temple after her father once again disappears from her life. Her grandfather assigns Anzu to look after her, but Anzu is no ordinary cat. He is a huge, decades-old bakeneko who talks, rides a scooter, and does odd jobs for the townspeople whenever laziness does not win first.

Karin distrusts her new guardian and deliberately interferes with his work, while Anzu proves just as stubborn. Over time she enters the strange world of local spirits and her relationship with the ghost cat begins to soften, especially as he tries to help with the absence of her parents. One well-meaning attempt leads Anzu into a deal with forces from the underworld, however, turning their small rural trouble into chaos far too large for even a giant supernatural cat to ignore.
