In autumn 2023, elderly lifer Akutsu is dying alone in a prison cell, cut off from everyone he once knew. A touch-me-not flower growing beside him can somehow speak, and it bluntly calls his life rotten, pushing Akutsu into memories of the summer of 1986.

Back then, he was a man connected to the yakuza, living with Nana, a woman six years younger, and her son Kensuke in a shabby apartment surrounded by the same flowers. One extraordinary night gives a dying gangster a brief return to life and leaves consequences that reach all the way to the old man's cell decades later. Moving between past and present, the flower becomes witness to a family that might have saved Akutsu and to the choices that turned those memories into the only things still beside him at the end.
