Summertime Render

Shinpei Ajiro returns to Hitogashima for the funeral of his childhood friend Ushio Kofune, who supposedly drowned while saving a child. Marks on her neck suggest the death was not accidental, then a nearby family disappears and Mio remembers seeing a perfect double of herself before the tragedy. Island folklore calls such copies Shadows. Shinpei's investigation ends with his death, only for him to awaken earlier on the day he arrived while keeping his memories. Each return gives him another chance to understand the pattern and save the people he lost, but his enemies can learn too. Summer becomes a battle of information and time, where one remembered detail can save a life or destroy it.
