Boogiepop wa Warawanai

School rumors describe Boogiepop as a death god who appears whenever danger draws near, but nobody can agree whether the figure is even real. Years after a string of murders shook the city, new disappearances and strange incidents begin surrounding students of Shinyo and Hijiridani, bringing the old legend back to life.

Each person sees only a fragment of what is happening, so the truth emerges through overlapping stories that initially seem unrelated. As inhuman entities and hidden experiments intrude on ordinary lives, Boogiepop appears wherever reality begins slipping toward nightmare. The frightening part may not be the rumored reaper at all, but what requires Boogiepop to appear.
