Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid

Mamori Tokonome wakes on the artificial island of Mermaid after being taken there because of a strange power she carries. The island quarantines people with unusual abilities, and Mamori is quickly targeted before being rescued by Mirei Shikishima.

The two discover that Mamori’s ability allows her to transform into a weapon that Mirei can wield in battle, activated through a special physical bond between them. With rival groups competing for control of the island and its system hiding more than it admits, Mamori and Mirei must depend on each other to survive while uncovering why these girls were gathered there and who benefits from keeping them in conflict.
