Astro Boy is drawn into a succession of crises that carry him from Earth into the dangers of space. Rockets, hostile machines, and threats large enough to demand planetary defense test both his extraordinary strength and the compassion that separates him from the weapons built only to fight.

As danger escalates toward a struggle over Earth's survival itself, Astro repeatedly stands between destruction and the people who cannot protect themselves.
