Fumoon

Humanity's nuclear experiments have awakened an unexpected new people: the Fumoon, small humanoids whose extraordinary intelligence lets them sense a catastrophe that ordinary humans cannot yet see. Knowing that a vast cloud of lethal gas is approaching Earth, they begin gathering animals for an evacuation while most scientists dismiss the warning.

Kenichi and his companions become caught between panic, disbelief, and the Fumoon's decision to leave mankind behind. But Rokoko, a Fumoon who has grown close to Kenichi, refuses to accept that humanity must simply perish. As the black cloud closes in, a desperate effort begins to find a way for humans to survive as well.
