Norio begins as an ordinary high school student, only to find himself suddenly surrounded by romantic attention he cannot explain. A chance accident leads him to a hidden society of people descended from different animal lineages rather than the usual human line, and he discovers that his own body belongs to an exceptionally rare type. That rarity makes his genes highly valuable within this secret world, transforming Norio from an unnoticed student into someone others actively pursue. As he learns the strange rules of the society he has entered, he must also work out which feelings directed at him are genuine and which exist only because of the lineage he carries.
