Katanagatari

Shichika Yasuri lives in isolation and practices Kyotouryuu, a fighting style that turns the user's own body into a blade. Strategist Togame arrives with a request: help her collect 12 legendary Deviant Blades forged by master smith Shikizaki Kiki, each now held by someone unwilling to surrender it. Shichika agrees less out of loyalty to the shogunate than because Togame interests him, and the two cross Japan together. Every encounter tests his weaponless style, while the journey forces them to rely on each other more than expected. Collecting the swords gradually becomes far more complicated than simply defeating their owners.
