Seiichirou Kondou is an exhausted office worker who lives to work until he is accidentally caught in a ritual summoning a holy maiden to the magical Romany Kingdom. The kingdom offers him a comfortable life as compensation for dragging him into another world, but he asks for the one thing he knows how to do: a job. Once assigned to the Royal Accounting Department, he finds waste and disorder severe enough to trigger his workaholic instincts immediately.

His obsession with work soon collides with a body that has no resistance to this world's magic, and exposure to magical energy puts his life at risk. Aresh Indolark, captain of the Third Royal Order, saves him and becomes essential to helping his body adapt. The two men differ sharply in values and lifestyle, yet the necessity that brings them together begins changing their relationship while Seiichirou tries to repair an entire kingdom's finances without knowing how to repair his old habit of working himself into the ground.
