16-year-old Subaru Sumeragi is the gentle heir to a powerful onmyouji clan and lives in Tokyo with his exuberant twin sister Hokuto. He uses his abilities to resolve hauntings, curses, and spiritual disturbances, but his empathy for other people's suffering often puts him in danger. Hokuto enjoys pushing Subaru toward their veterinarian friend Seishirou Sakurazuka, an unfailingly charming man who always seems available when the twins need help. As supernatural cases accumulate across the city, doubts about Seishirou become harder to ignore. His kindness may conceal a secret far more dangerous than the ghosts Subaru is accustomed to facing.
