Mashiro no Oto

After the death of his grandfather, legendary shamisen player Matsugorou Sawamura, Setsu leaves his village for Tokyo unable to find a sound that feels like his own. His grandfather's final warning was simple: quit playing if all he can do is imitate others. That turns the instrument Setsu loves into a question he cannot escape. His mother forces him into Umezono Academy, where Shuri Maeda creates a shamisen club and draws him back into playing with inexperienced students. Through practice and competition, Setsu begins searching not for a perfect copy of his grandfather's music, but for a voice he can finally recognize as his own.
