Jouran: The Princess of Snow and Blood

In an alternate Japan of 1931, the Tokugawa government still rules the country, strengthened by a mysterious energy source known as the Dragon Vein. Beneath the technological progress it enabled, a secret war rages between the regime and the rebel organization Kuchinawa, while the executioner unit Nue silences threats to the state.

By day, Sawa Yukimura works quietly in a bookshop. In secret, she is one of Nue’s killers, able to transform through the strange blue blood inherited from her people. Loyalty is not what keeps her in service; she wants Janome, the man responsible for slaughtering her family and clan. Every assignment brings her closer to revenge while revealing that the massacre, the rebellion, and the government she serves are tied together by truths she was never meant to know.
