Mahoutsukai no Yome

Chise Hatori has spent most of her young life unwanted, isolated by her ability to perceive supernatural beings that others cannot see. With nowhere she believes she belongs, the fifteen-year-old allows herself to be sold at an auction, where the inhuman magus Elias Ainsworth purchases her and takes her to his home in rural England.

Elias reveals that Chise is a rare Sleigh Beggy, naturally able to draw enormous amounts of magic into herself, and asks her to become both his apprentice and his future bride. Surrounded by fae, dragons, curses, and ancient customs, Chise begins learning magic while slowly discovering that being needed is not the same as being owned and that she may still be able to choose what kind of life she wants.
