Gorou Ono drifts through high school feeling detached from the people around him until a message on his phone offers to grant a wish. He answers with a crude fantasy involving his classmate Honoka, and when events seem to make that wish real, a strange being named Lall appears with the explanation: Gorou has been chosen as a candidate in a deadly contest to decide the next god.

Every candidate possesses a supernatural power and a wish worth killing for. Gorou's own ability can force impossible outcomes into reality, but each use rebounds on his life with a terrible cost. Hunted by other candidates and unwilling to accept the rules of the game, he must decide whom he can trust while discovering what people truly desire when divine power is placed within reach.
