Allied forces prepare a major offensive to reclaim Berlin and break the Neuroi hold over central Europe, but the enemy continues to evolve, making yesterday's weapons and tactics increasingly unreliable. In Lausanne, Yoshika Miyafuji is studying medicine after recovering her magical power when a new crisis draws her back into the sky. As the decisive campaign approaches, the scattered members of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing gather once more, now joined by Shizuka Hattori. The road to Berlin tests their abilities and their trust against an enemy that learns from every encounter and gives them no room to rely on past victories.
