Hanamori YumiriShimazaki Nobunaga
In 1374 Japan, Oniyasha, son of Kanami and heir to the Kanze troupe of sarugaku performers, cannot shake a simple question: why do people dance at all? The steps he has repeated since childhood feel arbitrary until he witnesses a performance that makes him understand, for the first time, that movement can express something words cannot.
From that moment, Oniyasha begins searching for what makes a performance truly good. He studies people, learns through encounters, laughter, failure, and loss, and tests his ideas onstage in an era of constant upheaval. With every step, the boy later known as Zeami moves closer to shaping a new art that will outlive him by centuries.
