Academy City's conflict with the Roman Catholic Church reaches a breaking point as tensions between science and magic spread beyond covert battles and threaten entire nations. Touma Kamijou is pulled back to the front lines, where protecting his friends means confronting enemies whose plans can reshape the balance of power across the world.

At the same time, Accelerator and Shiage Hamazura follow separate paths through the expanding crisis.
