Alps no Shoujo Heidi (1979)

Young Heidi is taken to the Swiss Alps to live with her reclusive grandfather, a man the villagers regard with suspicion. The bright, open-hearted girl quickly falls in love with the mountains, befriends the goatherd Peter, and gradually brings warmth back into her grandfather's isolated life.

Heidi is later taken away to Frankfurt to become a companion for Clara, a wealthy girl unable to walk. Though the two form a deep friendship, Heidi longs desperately for the Alps. Her journey between the city and the mountains becomes a story of home, kindness, and the healing strength people can find in one another.
