Defending his championship proves harder than Hayato expected. New rival machines and the pressure of wearing the champion's number leave him struggling to find his form. Just as support from those around him helps him recover, Schumacher returns to racing with Aoi, openly challenging Hayato and every other driver on the grid.

Hayato gains a valuable ally in Claire, the designer who helped his father develop Asurada. Her arrival, however, unsettles mechanic Miki, who questions her place and leaves the team. With turmoil in the garage and Schumacher waiting on the track, Hayato's title defense becomes a demanding test of his ability.
